I'm not one for hard labor

I have been watching old movies today.

I'm not usually a fan of TCM, (channel 132 for you dish subscribers out there), but today has just been an unusually good day for the channel.

I started out the day with a Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn movie and have been watching a couple with Lucille Ball in them. Really classic movies.

Man! Those women were so skinny. Saturated fat must not have been invented back then. And they were so pampered. The most strenuous activity they did was ring the bell for the servants. I was supposed to have lived back then.

Would you like proof? Here's a story for you!

Between movies I went out to do a little work in the flower beds. After 30 minutes of work, I have a blister on my hand!

A blister! just for making my flower beds look better!

So, I will be looking for a bell to ring, and then I will be looking for the servants to answer it. What do you bet I'm waiting a LONG time?!!!

  1. Hey friend!! Thank you for responding to my call for a Few Good Women. I am thrilled you are willing to take on this project! The study is on the book of Philippians entitled "Joy in the Journey." I have been writing Bible studies especially for MOMS of all ages and stages for over 10 years. I have bee teaching MOMS for 20 years now and have about 250 MOMS that attend each week. Two years ago I started my own ministry to MOMS and began publishing my studies and adding accompanying DVDS to create a 10 week program that could be used in small groups, in home accountability meetings, and incorporated into Women's Ministry in the church. We have the program in nearly 30 churches (including one in Belgium and South Africa) now. It is exciting the way is enlarging our borders.

I will leave later this morning-I don't sleep much anymore either and I don't like it either-to head out of town for a few days. When I return I will get back in touch with you and try to answer any questions you might have and iron out the details. I am thrilled you are willing to consider this. At any point in this preliminary process that you might have a check in your spirit about this, just let me know. I am carefully trying to "faith walk" this thing and DO NOT want to "build my own fires" apart from the Lord. So do not hestiate to tell me. But if, as you pray this through, you sense the Lord leading you to proceed, well then sister girlfriend, I would love to have you!

You might want to look at my website at www.jeanstockdale.com and see some of the materials I have written. I have Philippins DVDs up online and you will have access to them. It is my newest study and I think you will enjoy it.

I cannot believe our paths have already crossed. How kind of the Lord. I look forward to whatever God has for us. Blessings.
