A Big Pool Day

Yesterday was a big day at the pool!

Anna jumped off the diving board.

Well, after about 20 minutes of me dog paddeling in the deep end while she stood on the diving board with her floaties on. I finally got out of the pool and while the lifeguards dog paddled in the deep end, I grabbed her arm and pulled her off the board into the water.

She loved it!

And she continued to jump off 5 more times.

I've been telling her since she was three, that the floaties she was wearing would keep her from going under water. Every year she decides to ignore my wisdom and stay in the shallow end of the pool.

Until this year.

She is having a big time in the deep end. She told me the other day that her "floaties will keep me from going under water!"

Really?

I wonder where she had heard that before?

It makes me think of what wisdom I listen to for years before I actually head it. And then seeing what I missed out on for so long.

Another first happened at the pool yesterday. We all got sun burned. We applied sunscreen, but I guess those pesky little rays of sun got through.

And my friend Christy brought me do-nuts to the pool. Do-nuts? Really? She spoke my food love language! Thanks Christy!!

  1. This post made me laugh out loud. I cannot tell you how many times I have had that, "Really?" conversation with my oldest! At least she finally got it, and it sounds like you got some great exercise in the deep end. I'd say, bring on the do-nuts!!

P.S. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I'm glad the camera was retrieved. God truly does look out for all of us. :-)

  2. That is so cute! Mary-Kate has been swimming with my parents too. She is loving it. Hasn't jumped off the sides or anything like that. I am glad she is having fun while I am adjusting to the new baby and no sleep.
