It is Spring Break in Arkansas! Woo-Hoo
I had decided not to take a spring break this year, work the kids through it, but it turns out I like spring break.
I remembered back to my 9th grade year. I can remember running through the halls on the Friday before spring break, so excited! I have no idea what I did that spring break, I know I didn't go anywhere, but I guess I was ready to have me some 14 year old fun!
This year I've decided to take each one of the kids on a one-on-one lunch. Just me and one of mine.
Monday was David's day. He chose Subway. He had a BLT and some bbq chips. We had a good time talking and laughing.
Tuesday was Daniel's day. He chose the bbq restaurant in town. He had a BLT and fries. Strange that they ordered the same thing at two different restaurants isn't it. This twin thing is really weird! We also had a good time talking and laughing.
Today is Samuel's day. I'm not for sure where we are headed to, but I know we will have a good time. We always do.
What are you doing for spring break?

Have you seen the new Kleenex commercials?
They start off so sweet with pleasant muic playing. The mom is taking care of her grown-up child and then...
the music stops and the child gets out and goes to another mother.
He PICKS another mother!!
Thats the kind of day we've had at this house.
I'm thinking that my kids want to pick another mom today.
How aobut you?

Easter
First let me say I am so sorry for yesterdays post. That was just terrible!
Easter is always a picture holiday. For the last 7 Easters my children have had matching or coordinated clothing.
Not so this year.
This year Samuel says he is boycotting Easter clothes. I have refused to call him a preteen or a tween, but sadly, he is definitely acting like one.
Anna is wearing a beautiful white dress. It's a Strausburg dress and we got it on sale in January. I can still feel the excitement of that purchase.
The kids and I went shopping Tuesday and David and Daniel picked out their Easter clothes. David picked out a white shirt, plaid blazer and green and white striped tie. (It really looks good, I promise.) Daniel picked out a pale pink and white striped linen shirt. They are wearing their khaki pants. That will be all that matches with those two.
Samuel is wearing, hopefully, a white polo with blue around the collar. I got it on sale a couple of weeks ago. A new Polo for $6, can't beat that! He is threatening not to wear it, and wear his shirt from last year instead.
I had intended for them to all wear some version of white and navy. But because I am old and tired I gave in. They can wear these clothes for Easter. The picture won't be as good as the ones where they all matched. But maybe, just maybe, there will be no fussing, or complaining Easter morning.
How about you? Are your kids matching for Easter? Are you wearing something new for Easter? Please tell me!

My calendar is full
Oh yes it is!
We got all the baseball schedules tonight.
In the next 8 weeks, we are involved in 37 games. 37!
When you divide 37 games by 8 weeks, you get 4.625 games a week.
The good news is there are only 2 nights when everyone plays. But there are 6 nights when Samuel plays the same time David and Daniel play. Luckily, there will be one parent at each field.
I'm really glad D & D didn't take me up on the offer to play on different teams this season. That would have sent me into a fit for sure!!
I just hope it warms up before next week. These windy dusky practices are freezing me to the bone.

I'm a copycat

Because I thought this was cute, I copied the questions and asked Anna to answer them. Remember she is 4, but will be 5 in less than a month!
-What is something mom always say to you?
"I love you"
-What make mom happy?
When I pee-pee in the potty
-What makes mom sad?
When I pee-pee in my pants (can you figure out what my main problem is these days?!)
-What does mom do to make you laugh?
Say funny stuff
-What was mom like as a child?
Crying
-How old is mom?
I don't know
-How tall is mom?
6 feet (not quite!)
-What is moms favorite thing to do?
Sit down outside when its warm
-What does mom do when you're not around?
work on the (com)puter
-What is mom really good at?
Blowing leaves-(She has a short memory. I did this today for the first time!)
-What is mom not good at?
playing my games
What is moms job?
cleaning
-What is moms favorite food?
Peanut butter and jelly (that is her favorite food)
- What makes you proud of mom?
When you wipe my bottom. (Yes, that is a proud moment for me too!)
-How are we the same?
We have the same hair
-How are we different?
We have different faces
-How do you know mom loves you?
You tell me I love you and kiss me
-What is moms favorite place to go?
Mexican restaurant (I really thought she would say the mall. We haven't been to the mexican restaurant in a couple of weeks)
-What is moms favorite tv show?
That weird show where the president is (The West Wing, and she would be right)
I just love that girl. I will ask these questions of the boys and if they are cute I will post them. But if they are too real, I am not posting them. No need to air all my dirty laundry!!
A new era
It is spring! Officially. I am so glad.
However, Samuel's closet was not. That poor boy didn't have any shorts or t-shirts that were decent to ride his bike in. So, off to Little Rock we trekked.
The whole family.
We ate supper, and it was good! And then we headed to Academy Sports. We love that store.
And then we went to Target and Old Navy. We got him a couple of things at Target (and I got some great Bermuda shorts, I can't wait to wear them!-but this isn't about me) but nothing at Old Navy.
And then we went to Aeropostale'. Let me just say that I am extremely intimidated by teenage clothing stores. The smell of Abercrombie and Hollister make me gag. And I really think the devil lives at Abercrombie. How else would they come out with the trash they come out with?
ANYWAY!!!
I had a coupon for Aeropostale' so I thought we would try it out. And I must say it was a very pleasant experience. There was no overwhelming cologne smell, no loud music, and the employees were so nice.
Samuel got a pair of jeans, and 3 t-shirts. He was, and still is this morning, so excited!
Its a new era for us, no more Childrens Place for him. It was sad when he outgrew Oshkosh and Carters but now to be able to move on to teenage stores. I don't know if my mama heart can stand it.
All that I have going for me is the smile on his face when he walked out with a sack full of clothes!
Children how they grow!!!
